Thanks buddy. I'm just going to build a square tube. It'll have the most range of use and it should be fairly straight forward to do. It'll have about 7 inches of compression and 11 inches of extension.. plenty. :)

Going to pick up some square tube tomorrow and go to town on it.

That's good info on the length you posted. Thanks for that.

I bought the brake setup back in March. Never installed it. Great deal from Marlin Crawler- $199 for 4pot calipers (OEM), vented rotors and pads.

The suspension as you know I've been putting off until I had made up my mind on specs. Now with finding the 3rd member deal from some guy up in Michigan- I may as well just do it all at the same time.

Should finish off the truck. Not much else I want to do except a crawl box. Then I can go back to breaking it again. :)

With the arrival of 'Red' coming this week; Blue will be going into the garage and up on the lift for new 3rd members (geared and locked), new front brake setup and new suspension setup.

Details and pics of the build will be posted from here on out. I will probably get started on this July 1st.

I believe the Downey springs I picked up are 3". They are a rear set from a 4Runner, so perhaps I'll get a bit more.. or maybe they'll be all saggy and give me less than 3".. we'll find out soon. Going to source a 3" front leaf pack to match. Not sure what yet.

3rds are clean and ready for install. It'll be nice to have some gearing underneath this thing.

Gotta get the Land Cruiser fixed, change the oil in the Echo, and maybe put a water pump in the "Green car" (rally rental). Then Blue can go in the garage and up on the lift. Probably start working on this around the first of July. We'll see..

Well. Blue is still Blue. Still haven't found much info on these Downey leafs I picked up. Going to probably score a set of TG leafs for the time being and get the truck back on the dirt. I'll most likely park Blue when the snow falls so I won't have many more months this year to enjoy it. It's either I get it done now or hold off and do it over the winter. Hrmm..

All in all I'm super stoked to have this truck. it just keeps getting better and better. Every time I look at it I'm surprised I found it in such good shape.

Wish I could say the same for Red and it's fate.. No rust or anything.. Just isn't going to get pampered.
