Blue got it's doors put back on yesterday as Krojak worked on his taco. Tube doors will be stored until Summer. :(

Did you ever get around to making the square tube drive shaft? Just curious about how the vibes really are at any kind of speed. Pretty cool idea though, I wish I would have heard about it 15 years ago on my first Bronco. Would have been a much cheaper option than the custom one I had built for it.

I did not but it's still on the list to get done. The whole truck got put on the back burner. lol..

Vibes should be no worries as I don't plan on much over 10mph in 4wd. I doubt I'll ever really use 4 hi, ie: snowy highway.

Others have reported both good and bad. I suppose it depends on how well you construct it and which method you use to center everything.

In the end I don't think the vibes are going to be bad enough to complain. Custom drive shaft is $300, this thing should cost about $40-50. There's a few folks that make them for people and sold them for $100 shipped.

Gotcha. I agree at low speeds should be no problems really just a little clunk when changing the rotation I would imagine. Having driven an with unbalanced drive shaft before I am curious to compare.

Kept forgetting to mention this...There is a shop on 422 just east of Rt.19 before you hit 79 that does springs and drive shafts. Don't rightly recall the name of the place. I'll see if I can find out what the name of the shop is.

Hey lumpy,

Yeah I know who you mean. I just don't wanna spend $ on a custom driveshaft. $50 in square tube and I'm set.

Ok, finally getting back to blue.. Prepping for next year as I'm not going to drive it this winter. Perhaps if i can get enough other stuff done I'll have it out for a ride before years end.

Anyone want to lend a hand? We can schedule a garage party. :)
