Fender Rolling
Tool by Eastwood
Before ZDayZ 2006, We were in desperate need of new rubber on the rear wheels. After making a call to TireRack only to find 275/35-19 were out of stock and back order status for 6 weeks. Well, that won't work...
So, taking this time to go a size bigger. 285/35-19 were purchased. After fitting them to the wheel and lowering the car of the lift, we found them to be rubbing on just about any sort of driving. They wouldn't last 20 miles let alone a trip to ZdayZ.
Having ordered the Eastwood fender rolling tool several months back. It ended up saving the day. We had no choice but to dust it off and put it to the test.
Heat gun in hand, I carefully followed my mech (hi Dave) while he applied pressure. Increasing after every pass until desired clearance was reached.
In the end, we were able to free up about 3/4" of space. Eastwood's tool worked flawlessly. No paint cracks, no fuss.
Keep in mind that this was the first time we used this tool. And we were in a bit of a jam/rush. It wasn't easy taking that first pass on a new Z.
Eastwood saved my trip to ZdayZ. Rock on.
